Aliquot #71: Eating for aging – and the protein debate
Protein is an essential component of a healthy eating pattern because it supports the growth, development, and maintenance of skeletal muscle tissue. Having sufficient muscle mass markedly reduces a person's risk of dying prematurely. Eating more protein and exercising may be essential for staving off the effects of aging.
